The grasshopper sings all summer. The ants work. Winter tells who was right.

THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE ANTS

One fine winter day, some Ants were busy drying their corn. It had gotten damp from a long spell of rain. Then a Grasshopper came up and begged them to give her a few grains. "Please," she said, "I'm so hungry." The Ants stopped work for a moment. "What were you doing all last summer?" they asked. "Why didn't you save up food for the winter?" "Well," said the Grasshopper, "I was so busy singing that I didn't have the time." "If you spent the summer singing," said the Ants, "then you can spend the winter dancing." And they laughed and went back to work.
