A bat keeps changing his story to escape danger — and it works, twice.
THE BAT AND THE WEASELS
A Bat fell to the ground and was caught by a Weasel. The Weasel was just about to kill and eat him when the Bat begged to be let go. The Weasel said he couldn't do that. He was an enemy of all birds, no matter what. "Oh, but," said the Bat, "I'm not a bird at all. I'm a mouse!" "So you are," said the Weasel, taking a good look. And he let the Bat go.
